What?

Restaurant recommendation!

The original Barrafina Spanish tapas restaurant and bar is Michelin starred and located in the heart of Londons west end. Often recommended as one of the best restaurants in London, we were very generously given a gift voucher from friends as an engagement present to dine at this popular place.

The restaurant is small but atmospheric with only 24 seats available along an L-shaped counter facing the front kitchen. As there are no reservations we arrived at 5:45 pm to ensure a couple of sort after seats for an early dinner. We were extremely luckily – we walked in and were seated straight away! Only 10 minutes after we had arrived did a long queue start to grow. The queue is indoors and fast moving, and you can order drinks and small plates as you wait. Though Michelin stared, dining at Barrafina is a more casual but excellent experience with incredible food. The mussels and grilled squid were particular highlights!

How?

The restaurant is in Soho, easy to get to via Londons tubes.

How long?

A couple of hours – we arrived early to get seats and left around 7:30 pm.

How much?

Would expect to pay around £150 for a couple of glasses of wine each and sharing 5-6 dishes. Very reasonable for a Michelin starred restaurant!
