What?
Exploring the Victoria & Albert Museum.
When on a budget and living in London, head to one of the many fantastic museums or galleries on offer. Most are free! The Natural History museum, the Science museum and the V&A can all be found in South Kensington. Whether on a budget or not, visiting the Natural History museum is one of the top things to do in London, and one of the first things I did when I moved to London. So on this occasion, having not visited before, we chose to explore the V&A museum.
The V&A museum, founded in 1852 and named after Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, is the world’s leading museum in art, design and performance. Sculpture, stained glass, jewellery, fashion, theatre and performance are among the many things showcased at the V&A.

January is one of the best times to visit one of London’s many museums and galleries, when it’s often cold, dark and rainy outside! In South Kensington in particular, visitors can still admire the festive lights without the hustle and bustle, and stresses, of the Christmas crowds.

How?
The natural history museum, science museum and V&A are all within walking distance of South Kensington’s tube station, on the circle or district line.
How long?
Can spend as little or as long as your like exploring the V&A, spread out over 6 floors there’s a lot to see! We tend to tire after 2-3 hours… So our museum and gallery excursions are normally half day outings.
How much?
Admission is free! Though a small donation is appreciated.
