What?

Sky Garden, with drinks and dinner at Borough Market.

Having booked free tickets in advance, we admired the 360-degree views of the city’s skyline, along with lush tropical greenery, from the open air terrace and observation decks at Sky Garden.

Although the views were excellent, I would say overall the experience at Sky Garden was a little disappointing, with long queues and expensive drinks. Though would definitely recommend it over visiting the Shard observation decks.

Instead of waiting in the long queues and getting overpriced drinks, we had drinks and dinner at Borough Market, a 15 minute walk from Sky Garden. We enjoyed a couple of glasses of wine at Bedales of Borough and some seriously good pasta at Padella, one of the best pasta and budget friendly places in central London.

The sun was setting gorgeously over the city and our day out as we headed home.

How?

Tube to bank, 4 minute walk from Bank.

How long?

We didn’t spend that much time in Sky Garden (maybe 30 minutes), opting to spend the evening in Borough Market.

How much?

Tickets for Sky Garden are free! But must be booked in advance.
